We're Hiring

About Us

We’re Haven and Hadley, a data-driven content creation and digital marketing agency that partners with hotels, wine farms, tourism boards, and hospitality brands. We tell compelling stories, craft thorough strategies, and deliver work that actually turns interest into action → bookings, reservations and sales. We’re small, creative, and unrelentingly committed to doing things well.

Our work is rooted in hospitality, and we believe in delivering unreasonably good experiences & results – for our clients, and their guests alike.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking to build a team that values exceptional work – what others may call unrealistic or impossible, we call standard.

  • Are you used to going above and beyond?
  • Do you shudder at the thought of 4-star reviews, quick fixes and “good enough”?
  • Have you always had an eye for the creative – a unique perspective?

Same. Let’s chat.

Where Do You Shine?

Junior-to-Mid-Level Video Editor

Full-time | Remote
R15,000–R18,000 CTC per month, based on relevant experience and demonstrated ability

If a great edit gives you goosebumps, we would like to meet you.

We are Haven & Hadley, a boutique hospitality marketing agency. We believe in unreasonable hospitality and the same level of attention to detail in our work: emotion, story, rhythm, sound, and that moment when you need to hit the spacebar just to take in an incredible cut.

We are looking for a full-time junior-to-mid-level video editor who cares about the craft, understands why an edit works, and can move comfortably between premium, polished work and lo-fi, UGC-style content.

This is a permanent employment position, not freelance or contract work.

The Role

You will edit content for hospitality and lifestyle brands, including:

  • Short-form social content
  • Story-led brand and campaign videos
  • Spoken and interview-led content
  • Reels, cutdowns and platform adaptations
  • Occasional longer-form or more complex edits

This is not a template-clicking job. You will be expected to make creative decisions about structure, emotion, pacing, performance, shot selection, sound, colour and technical finish.

What We Are Looking For

  • A strong, consistent portfolio across several completed edits
  • A working understanding of narrative, pacing, eye-trace and continuity
  • Good judgement around music, dialogue, sound design and silence
  • A good eye for colour correction, exposure and skin tones
  • A technical grasp of footage types, frame rates, stabilisation, speed changes and export settings
  • The ability to identify the strongest takes and turn imperfect footage into a coherent edit
  • Experience working with LOG footage
  • Professional proficiency in DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere
  • Clear, professional and responsive communication
  • Careful attention to briefs and instructions
  • The ability to work independently, respond constructively to feedback and meet agreed deadlines
  • Your own reliable editing computer and professional editing software
  • Reliable, fast internet suitable for transferring large media files
  • Availability for a full-time role

Output and Timelines

The exact output will depend on the complexity of each project. The examples below are guides for a working day and are not cumulative daily targets:

  • 3-5 simple cutdowns or adaptations
  • 1-2 standard social edits
  • Approximately one story-led or moderately complex edit
  • Larger hero edits scheduled and scoped separately

A completed first draft means a polished, client-ready version for review, rather than a rough assembly.

Hospitality work is tied to dates, seasons and launches, so meeting agreed deadlines is essential. We will set priorities clearly and account for the complexity and revision requirements of each project.

How We Work

Footage is organised for each job, with editing or content notes provided where needed. Files are delivered through Google Drive, and reviews take place through Frame.io.

You will be responsible for managing your work carefully, asking questions when something is unclear, communicating potential delays early and delivering by the agreed time.

The role is remote. Being based in Hermanus is ideal, while Cape Town or elsewhere in the Western Cape is useful. We are open to a strong candidate elsewhere in South Africa.

What We Value

We care about skill, but how people work matters just as much. Attention to detail, humility, responsiveness, good manners, ownership and a constructive attitude are important to us.

What We Offer

  • Permanent, full-time employment
  • R15,000–R18,000 CTC per month
  • A fully remote position
  • Standard South African leave and public holidays
  • Hands-on mentorship and direct creative feedback
  • Clear systems and organised workflows
  • Varied work across hospitality and lifestyle brands
  • Room to grow within a quality-driven creative team

The offer within the advertised salary range will reflect relevant experience, portfolio quality, working speed and demonstrated ability.

How to Apply

Our application is intentionally short. Please apply using the form linked below, read the instructions carefully and include direct links to 4-6 individual portfolio examples that demonstrate the consistency and range of your work.

For each example, briefly explain what the project was, the footage you worked with, your role in the edit, and any important editorial decisions you made. You may include a showreel, but it should not replace the individual examples.

Applications or enquiries sent via WhatsApp will not be reviewed.

We're Hiring: Website Designer

Role TBD. Please email info@havenandhadley.com for early applications.

The following skills are essential:

  1. Versed in WordPress
  2. Skilled in Elementor
  3. Exceptional copywriting (understanding what to say, to who, how and when)
  4. Graphic design

We're Hiring: Social Media & Community Manager

Location: Hermanus / Cape Town / Remote
Role Type: 3-month contract-to-hire, full-time
Start Date: As soon as we find the right person

The Role

We’re looking for someone to own our brands’ presence online, across social media platforms, in the comments, DMs, stories, and captions that actually feel alive.

You’ll post, engage, write, and collaborate on strategy; showing up consistently, creatively, and with care.

This role is a hybrid between social media management and copywriting. Strong writing is essential. You’ll need to shape a brand’s tone, tell stories, and make content that connects… Content that is human.

It’s ideal for someone who’s curious about how people behave online, passionate about hospitality, and serious about mastering the craft of narrative marketing.

This is not a role for anyone who sees social media as a set of templates and scheduled posts. This is for someone who genuinely wants to become excellent at the psychology and strategy behind digital storytelling – and is ready to be mentored, challenged, and held to a very high standard.

What You’ll Do

  • Be the daily voice and presence for our brands across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, and Facebook
  • Respond to DMs, engage with comments, start conversations, and grow communities
  • Post consistently (no missed schedules), and create stories that are actually engaging
  • Craft thoughtful, personality-driven captions based on strategy and engagement trends
  • Handle urgent content requests (like “it’s raining,” “we’re fully booked,” “we have a last-minute special”) quickly and creatively
  • Assist with monthly analytics reports: adding stats, linking content, and drawing key insights
  • Join team meetings and contribute ideas to strategy and campaign planning

What We’re Looking For

  • A warm, thoughtful person who genuinely cares about getting it right
  • Someone who thinks deeply, asks good questions, and notices the small things
  • A strong, engaging writer with a love of storytelling and the knack for nailing tone
  • Someone who thrives on structure and takes initiative (you’ll have checklists – but no micromanaging)
  • A person who wants to be mentored (and understands that feedback, revisions, and high standards are part of that)
  • Willingness to work during hospitality peak hours: weekends, holidays, and odd moments when something arises. (This isn’t 24/7, we respect your time, but presence is expected when needed.)
  • A foundational understanding (or a burning curiosity) about marketing psychology and narrative strategy
  • Qualifications in Media, Marketing, Communications, or Writing are helpful – but not essential if your work speaks for itself

*Important note: This is a full-time role. We’re not looking for freelancers, moonlighters, or agencies. Please only apply if this is your primary focus.

Work Culture

We value excellence, ownership, and growth.
We don’t count hours – we care about outcomes.
We don’t cut corners – we nail every single detail.
We don’t believe in average.

We’ll give you mentorship, systems, and trust.
You’ll give us consistency, thoughtfulness, and care.

Tools You’ll Use

Must know your way around:

  • Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, X (Twitter)
  • Google Drive, Docs, and Sheets

Nice to know:

  • Later, Meta Business Suite, Canva

Bonus if you know:

  • Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom, Looker Studio, Brevo

Setup

Ideal: Based in Hermanus with occasional co-working
Great: Based in Cape Town with 1-2 meetups a month
Possible: Fully remote, as long as you have excellent self-management

Required: Smartphone, laptop or desktop, stable WiFi

The Offer

  • 3-month full-time contract, with the intention to hire permanently
  • Standard South African leave and sick days apply
  • Compensation: R12,000 – R18,000 pm based on experience and value
  • Hands-on training, an unusually high level of care and mentorship, and the opportunity to grow within a small, fast-paced team

How to Apply

Please prepare the following:

  1. A short, creatively written note about who you are and why you believe this role is right for you. (We’ll assess your writing here. It matters.)
  2. Links to any social media accounts you’ve worked on, your role, your highlights and biggest lessons
  3. A summary of your copywriting or writing experience, with links or samples if available
  4. Your CV, résumé, and any recommendation letters you’d like to include
  5. A list of contactable references and how they know you

*We will not respond to DMs, WhatsApp messages, incomplete applications, or applications using generic AI content. We can tell.
